Connect to Careers hosts workforce development summit
Connect to Careers, an Adams County workforce development organization, is holding a workforce development summit on May 2 to provide information to employers on how to attract and retain employees, and to provide a forum for employers to give feedback to community leaders. Present at the summit will be the Connect to Careers Board of Directors and Adams County Economic Development leadership, the hosts of the event. Other public officials and community leaders may also be in attendance.
Connect to Careers' mission is to create opportunities for career advancement through a fully-engaged and effectively prepared workforce. The organization designed its services specifically for Adams County as a catalyst for workforce development and to support working-age citizens to become job ready. Connect to Careers funds a position in the Adams County Economic Development office to focus on issues related to workforce development.
"The purpose of the summit is to gather employers, hiring managers, educators and community leadership for a dynamic conversation related to workforce development issues," said Trois Hart, Board President of Connect to Careers. "We intent to offer information to employers that will help them in the short and long term. We also want to hear about hiring challenges and as important, creative ideas on how Adams County can collaboratively address them."
Event organizers will gather information and publish a report to all attendees on the information presented along with any findings from the summit.
